Start QQ registration in the official QQ app and follow the phone-verification steps offered for your number. Registration options and security checks can differ. An overseas number is not a guarantee of approval, and a failed attempt does not prove that every foreign number is unsupported.
Tencent identifies QQ as its messaging and social platform for computers and mobile devices. Use the download links on QQ’s official website; avoid purchased accounts and unofficial “verification” services.
How to register a QQ account
- Install the official QQ app and choose the registration option, usually labelled 注册. Read the terms and privacy notice before deciding whether to continue.
- Choose the country or region code offered for your own mobile number. Enter the number carefully and check that the SIM can receive verification texts.
- Request the SMS code once and enter it in the official app. Complete any additional security check shown for that attempt.
- Set the nickname and password requested by the app. If registration succeeds, keep a secure record of your QQ number and recovery details.
Tencent’s QQ number rules say available registration methods are determined by its official services, and that phone numbers assessed as presenting an obvious security risk may be rejected. This is why a fixed recipe cannot guarantee an account.

If the SMS code or registration fails

Is QQ Mail registration the same thing?
A QQ number is an account identifier; QQ Mail is an email service. Do not treat an unrelated email activation screen as proof that your QQ account is ready. Confirm that you can sign in to QQ and that the account details belong to you.
